Job Description We are currently looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer/ Staff Scientist. This position will primarily be responsible for the development of front-end mixed signal electronics as applied to clinical PET and SPECT scanners. The candidate chosen for this position will be responsible for the integration of gamma ray detectors used in nuclear medicine imaging systems employing a variety of technologies. These technologies include scintillators with solid-state light sensors such as SiPMs and solid-state direct conversion detection materials such as CdTe and CZT.
The position encompasses the design of front-end amplifier topologies, shaping networks, timing pick-off configurations, nuclear energy computations, event positioning, event timing conversion, as well as correction algorithms. Additionally, the position requires Knowledge of FPGA HDL logic as well as logic implementation for setup and calibration routines. Position necessitates the design of experiments including the investigation of various front-end PET and SPECT architectures and their impact upon clinical scanner performance. The job requires a comprehensive understanding of PET and/or SPECT physics.
The candidate must have a minimum of 10 years applied experiences in detector electronics. It is preferred if the candidate has experience in PET and/or SPECT detector design, development, and designing for commercial production.
